On 19 June 2025, around 1.30 in the afternoon, I took this slow-motion vid of a garden bumblebee feeding on my wallflowers (Erysimum, aka Bowles’s Mauve).
Not really sure what you mean, sorry! Apparently bumblebees can tell by smell if another pollinator has recently drained the nectar in a flower, though some flowers have nectaries that refill almost immediately.
Kate!!! This video is so amazing! Well done! And I just love that little busy bee! Thanks Kate! I wonder what sound other insects make?
Thanks so much, Jeannine! I just love her too <3 I hope to be able to take some vids of other insects at some point!
The slow motion tells me how extraordinarily fast their wings move. Wonderful video!
Thank you, Margaret! Aren't they amazing creatures? <3
So, do they just hit or miss or can they systematically drain each blossom in a cluster?

Ask and answered, thanks… ;>)
Ah, good, I'm glad ;-) Any time!
