A Bumblebee in Slow Motion

On 19 June 2025, around 1.30 in the afternoon, I took this slow-motion vid of a garden bumblebee feeding on my wallflowers (Erysimum, aka Bowles’s Mauve). The start of the vid is not great, rather blurry and out of focus, as the sunlight was very strong and bright and I couldn’t really see what I was doing. It gets better, though! And do listen with the sound on so you can hear what a bumblebee’s wings sound like in slow motion. It’s amazing, especially when the bumble retracts her wings along her back while she’s feeding. You can actually hear the wings slotting in place!
